The modular design and wide variety of challenges enables us to custom build a course to suit your space and environment, whether it be indoor or outdoor.  Interchangeable elements and the ability to expand on your initial ropes course means that you can refresh your course or alter it at any time, enabling you to future proof your ropes course.

Importantly Sky Trail ropes courses have resolved the issue of bottle-necks that occur on traditional courses.  Using a unique system, participants can not only overtake each other, but choose the direction they wish to travel.  This is achieved by an interchange within the safety track at each platform junction that allows participants to make a choice.

No two visits need be the same.

Traditionally an outdoor product, Sky Trail ropes courses can be built indoors and outdoors which opens up the market to shopping malls, indoor adventure playgrounds and other indoor attractions. In addition to this Sky Trail offers an award winning junior ropes course Sky Tykes, that can be stand alone or fitted underneath the main course specifically for young children (2 – 7 year olds).

What do people buy a Ropes Courses Inc product as opposed to a more traditional one?

  • Increased throughput capacity which makes them more profitable and provides the operator with an ROI within a short period of time

  • Overtaking is possible – helps maintain high throughput and reduces bottle necks

  • Proven safety record – many proprietary systems that address safety

  • Continuous safety track and puck system is easy to use and minimises operator error

  • Lower staffing requirements due to easier operation

  • They can be built indoors and outdoors

  • Steel construction is more robust and durable compared with wooden courses

  • Speed at which it can be installed meaning minimum of down time

Constructed using the highest quality steel components, Sky Trail high ropes courses have a much longer life expectancy than a traditional wooden course with minimal ongoing maintenance required.  For locations near the coast we offer a galvanized finish to reduce the risk of corrosion.

A feature of the Sky Trail courses is the ability to offer high capacity and throughput.  This is achieved through the use of a continuous safety track system that follows the path of the course.  Once participants are harnessed up to a lanyard, their safety line is attached to their harness.  This line, once in the safety system is secured and participants cannot exit from the track until they have returned to ground level.  This also makes operating incredibly easy, reduces the risk of human error and greatly reduces the risk of human error and reduces staffing requirements, all great benefits to the operator.

Sky Trail Discovery – 1 level

This is the entry level course which can be configured in numerous layouts to fit your space. The poles form an equilateral triangle and we currently have courses designed from 3 to 10 poles. Elements are installed between each pole and you have a choice of 1 or 2 entrances/exits. Once your Sky Trail Discovery ropes course has been constructed, provided you have the space, additional poles and elements can be added at a later date in order to increase the capacity to meet high demand.

The Sky Trail Discovery ropes course is a single level design and ideally suited to operators looking to offer an introductory high ropes experience. They appeal to the whole family, even those with younger children. You can also have Sky Tykes, the junior low ropes course aimed at 2- 7 year olds, incorporated below it. This allows the whole family to share a ropes course experience.

At just under 6m tall the Sky Trail Discovery ropes course can fit into buildings with a relatively low ceiling height. This makes them ideal for indoor play centres as they can be installed around existing equipment or above a seating area enabling operators to take advantage of unused space.

Sky Tykes – ages 2-7 years

Finally, a ropes course for little ones has arrived! The Sky Tykes course is manufactured specifically for children ranging in age from 2-7 years old. Just like our larger Sky Trail® courses, harnessed participants will hook into the patented safety system and begin their adventure. When combined with a Sky Trail course, the addition of Sky Tykes creates a high ropes experience the whole family can enjoy, from very young children right up to parents. Sky Tykes is designed for children below 1.2 metres in height, typically between the ages of two and seven.

A unique feature of Sky Tykes is the walk through element area. This special feature allows for a helper, usually a parent, to accompany their child while they are navigating around the course. Parents walk alongside their child and are able to assist with any help they may need. The elements and safety track are specifically designed for smaller children who may not want to try one of our larger courses. This course is a perfect starting point for beginners or small children.

The Sky Tykes course is suitable for indoor and outdoor locations in a whole range of different sectors. As well being incorporated into the design of a Sky Trail course, Sky Tykes can be installed as a separate entity. When installed alone, Sky Tykes can be designed to fit specific areas and can utilise previously wasted space.

Sky Tykes is proving popular with the indoor play sector as an additional adventure play attraction. It fits in perfectly with the target age range of this sector and offers a unique experience for younger visitors. Some indoor play centres have opted for a Sky Trail High Ropes system which expands a centre's target age range and moves them into the Family Entertainment Centre bracket. Sky Tykes' ability to be incorporated into the design of Sky Trail, utilising the same pole system means indoor play centres and Family Entertainment Centres (FECs) can offer a high ropes experience the whole family can enjoy.

Design to Installation

Highgate work with you every step of the way from initial point of contact through to the opening of your ropes course and beyond.  We are happy to visit your site to assess the best way of designing a ropes course to meet your specific requirements. The next step is to produce design drawings to give you a visual of your chosen design, colour scheme and theming options. We also assist you with the specification and design of the concrete foundations where required.

We have a highly trained and experienced ropes installation team. Installation times vary depending on the course size but smaller Sky Trail courses can be built in less than 5 days keeping disruption on site to a minimum.  With installation completed, the Sky Trail course will be subjected to a safety inspection.  The final step is training your staff which is included as standard with every Sky Trail ropes course installation. All harnesses, safety lines and emergency take-down kit are also supplied with your Sky Trail High Ropes Course.
